The students all wear uniforms, down to the color of their hair elastic. Many of them were late and running. We peeked on the school grounds and saw many students in an organized game of baseball and others were inside playing basketball.

Students must walk to school. No drop offs, no bikes.
The school is also the local emergency shelter.
There was a shrine as well. Shrines are Shinto and temples are Buddhist. About 150 years ago when religious intolerance reigned, the temples were converted. Some of them have changed back, many remain a mix.

We were on one of many bamboo paths.
We watched two young hooligans climb the fence. They were kind enough to pose with their new pet.
Beetling. Just like we go frogging or catching tadpoles. Only different.
One of the more expensive homes in the neighborhood. They have on site parking.
And after this excursion I was sick from the heat. Amy immediately prescribed a cold bath, water, and ibuprofen. I luckily recovered quickly.
